Welcome to our National Drive Electric Week event. We are again part of the annual Cruisin’ the Bay Car Show on the Siletz Bay. Along with the classic cars, several models of electric vehicles will be on display with enthusiastic and well-informed owners on hand to answer questions. We’ll also have the ever-popular ride and drives so people can have an EV driving experience. Current drive and ride cars are Nissan LEAF, Tesla Model S, and Tesla Model X.
Please pre-register to display your car or add it to the ride and drive group. Click register above and be entered to win a chance at a $250 gift card. Cars must stay onsite from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We’ll accommodate as many as we can in our display space with the priority of showcasing as many different EV models as possible.
Car show entry fees will be sponsored by Oregon Beach Vacations for all pre-registered display and ride and drive cars. Oregon Beach Vacations walks the talk by using EVs in their business and several employees are also EV drivers. There will be paperwork to fill out onsite to enter your car for judging. Cruisin’ the Bay Car Show has previously honored two cars from our EV group: David Denhart’s Tesla Roadster and Dr. Stephen Ou’s Tesla MS P-85.
We encourage EV drivers who can’t be there all day to stop by, hang out for a bit, and check out the cars. Free general parking is available surrounding the car show area. Please do register on this site and indicate in comments that you are “dropping by" so your miles can be added to the electric miles driven grand total.
We look forward to seeing you!National Drive Electric Week, September 9-17, 2017, is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today's widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. They are fun to drive, are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Are you considering going electric? Come talk to owners who have successfully done so.
