Event Report
This was a workplace charging event that was promoted heavily to employees of Black & Veatch, which has 41 charging ports on its Overland Park campus, but it was also made available to visitors and to employees of other area businesses. It was supported by Kansas City Regional Clean Cities and KCP&Ls Clean Charge Network. The prime attraction was ride & drives in BMW's i8, as well as the also popular i3 BEV, 5-series PHEV SUV and the brand-new 7-series and 3-series PHEV sedans. Participating dealerships from Nissan and Chevrolet offered rides in the new Leaf and Volt models, while Ford and Tesla BEV models were also on display. Prior to event kick-off more than 60 people had pre-registered for the opportunity to drive a BMW, and final tallies of all the ride & drives have not yet come in.
