Event Report

Even though we're a small town of only 4500 people, we pulled out all the stops to make our Expo one of the top two NDEW events in all of New England - the other being the one in Boston. Attendance far exceeded our expectations, with 24 electric cars and at least 350 participants. We also had several electric bicycles, a speaker series with six presenters, and four solar panel installers set up exhibits to show off their services. We offered free admission, free homemade cookies and donuts, free coffee and apple cider, and a free raffle ticket for all pre-registered attendees. Donated prizes for our raffle included an overnight stay at a local B&B, a hand-turned wooden bowl made by a local artisan, and lots of gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses.
The highlight of our Expo was the Tesla Model X with its falcon-wing doors. The Model X gave more rides than all the other cars combined. Here's a video report:

Photo below: The New London Historical Village, a beautiful location for our event, consists of 15 historical buildings set on 8 scenic acres near the center of town. In addition to historic structures, they have a wide assortment of antique horse-drawn carriages, sleighs, and even an antique electric car on display.
The Scytheville House, pictured below, will offer a 240-volt electric car charging station for use by exhibitors. There will be a second portable charging station elsewhere in the Historical Village, and two more charging stations will be available at the Inn at Pleasant Lake, just 2 miles away on North Pleasant Street.

Many thanks to our sponsors who've made it possible for us to put you behind the wheel of an electric vehicle!
