Event Report

Cincinnati’s National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) event went great!  Our biggest event of the year, we had five exhibitors and well over 200 attendees.  We gave a total of over 200 ride/drives with 22 EVs available for ride or test drive, reflecting excellent turnout from private EV owners and local dealers alike. The Porsche Taycan and Hummer EV were continuously busy with multiple passengers.  Many took advantage of the opportunity to try out more than one EV model, with one attendee test driving six different EVs.

We had another 34 EVs available for people to climb in and out and chat with their owners to hear first-hand about the EV ownership experience.  That’s over 50 EVs total spanning nearly all the EV models available now.  Newest was the Mercedes EQB and oldest was the original Nissan Leaf.  Most affordable of the new EVs was the Chevy Bolt EUV.

One bit of excitement came when two muscle car drivers arrived to troll the event.  They each did an acceleration run demonstrating their noisy exhaust systems.  Police responded to a neighbor’s noise complaint.  Once we explained the noisy cars were long gone, the officer decided to try out our event’s Porsche Taycan -- emerging with a smile.

• Orion Electronics: their new eBike

Event Description

Drive Electric Cincinnati invites you to join us for an electric vehicle showcase and ride & drive to celebrate National Drive Electric Week. 

If you would like to learn more about electric vehicles, this event is for you!  Check out the EVs, talk to EV owners and ask them questions about driving electric.  Sign up at the event to ride in an EV or take one out for a test drive.  Test drive multiple EVs to compare.  Experience the smooth, quiet acceleration and see for yourself what people are talking about!  We will have an wider array of EVs to ride or test drive than previous years: GMC Hummer EV, Chevy Bolt EUV, Porsche Taycan, and Tesla Model Y, 3 and X, VW ID.4, Mercedes EQB, BMW i4, Audi e-tron, Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ford F-150 Lightning, Nissan Leaf, and more.  Once you’ve seen those, take an electric bike ride!

EV Owners:  Our largest meetup of the year!  Add your electric car or motorcycle to our EV showcase.  If needed, charge up at one of the four Electrada chargers (FLO network) in front of the adjacent ArtsConnect building.

To find the event, turn off Winton Rd using the entrance at the "Springfield Township" sign.  Wind around behind the township and fire dept building following the signs for the event at the ArtsConnect lot.  We will have a volunteer to guide you on where to park.  If you are bringing an EV, you'll park in either the EV showcase area or the Ride & Drive area.  Other cars continue to the back of the lot to park.
