Event Report

Russell Watson, c.o. Northpower spoke on Northpower's testing with V2H and V2G.

We would like to acknowledge REV-UP our local EV club that help organize this event.  We started at the Whangarei Growers Market, however, because of COVID Level 2 Restrictions in New Zealand we were not able to set up at the Market but instead at the charging station near-by.  We were able to engage market goers at safe social distance.  We noticed a more engaged public, most agreeing that the next car will be electric, with the biggest barrier being price.

In New Zealand a Tesla Model 3 still cost 70,000 NZD, this is ~ 50,000 USD and out of reach of most Kiwi buyers.  The worldwide demand is outstripping supply and hopefully with more battery factories ramping this imbalance will ease.

Always good to see even one more EV on the road.
