Event Report

The 2021 East Hampton / Portland electric Car Show on Saturday, September 25, 2021 was a great success.

The event was sponsored by the East Hampton and Portland Clean Energy Task Forces, which are volunteer organizations within their respcetive towns to promote conservation, clean energy, reduced fossil fuel consumption.  Addressing negative climate change due to current patterns of energy and resource use are a primary focus of the Task Forces.

Held at the East Hampton High School, and supported by the East Hampton Parks & Recreation Department, the location and promotional efforts were very effective.

Over two dozen show cars, two solar contractor, three dealerships, and an estimated 250 attendees made their way to the event.

We were pleased to have the two renewable energy companies also participating.  The interface between conservation, renewables and a transformed transportation sector are critical to moving past fossil fuels dominance.
