Event Report
We had no speakers but multiple politicians were invited and some accepted but backed out at the last minute due to other political items they had to attend to.
We did have 17 EVs with owners present including an MGB conversion which has raced at Laguna Seca and a VW ID4. The owners answered many questions to a very receptive public.
In addition to owner cars we had 8 dealer provide EVs & PHEVs which were offered for test drives organized by our cosponsor Green Cars. Test drive cars varied from Tesla Model 3 to PHEV Jeep and Porsche Cayenne. People who took test drives were offered a $20 gift card but only a few wanted the card.
A video is being prepared and will be displayed on our website (https://soheva.net). It will be similar to a video from Earth Day currently on the site.
A large percentage of our visitors had just completed an adult education class presented by to SOHEVA members entitled "Should I Buy an Electric Car?" The class was scheduled to coincide with NDEW and had 60 participants. We also were featured in a 1/2 hour radio interview about the event and purchased advertising and received good coverage in the newspaper events magazine the day before the event.
Event Description
Soheva will sponsor this Drive Electric Week event and may be joined by other Southern Oregon EV supporters. Come see actual EVs and speak to the owners who drive EVs every day. We hope to ease your concerns including range anxiety and provide information on the many benefits of driving with electricity. The event is being co-hosted by Green Cars representing Lithia motors with some new Evs on display.
