Event Report

Duke Farms (Hillsborough) - Central Jersey Electric Auto Association - Electric Vehicles 101  virtual event, Sep. 28, 2020

Host & Intro: Duke Farms - Nora DiChiara - Director, Strategic Planning  & Programs
Speakers:
- Stanislav Jaracz, PhD - President of Central Jersey Electric Auto Association
- Cathleen Lewis - Outreach Coordinator, BPU-NJ Clean Energy Program

Highlights of our event were sharing the many benefits of driving electric including NJ and federal incentives, the significantly lower cost to charge an EV as opposed to using gas/diesel, and the clear health and climate advantages which electric driving offers.  Other highlights were showing the increasing number of public chargers with plans for more in NJ (tool shown: plugshare.com), and sharing EV shopping tool (plugstar.com) for the many EV and Plug-In Hybrid EV models now for sale, including lower cost models.  And we shared upcoming NJ in-person EV shows on Sat Oct 3 at W. Windsor Farmers Market & Brunswick Square Mall now on Oct 4th 3-7PM.

There's a closing surprise in the last minutes when our BPU speaker's child popped into view for a hug, and Nora commented this is who we do this for! A priceless moment as this is about planning for our health now and planning for the health, air and water for future generations.
