Event Description

Bellingham Drive Electric Earth Day

Public Celebration of Bellingham’s Newest Electric Vehicle Charging Station

•             Check out a Variety of Electric Cars

•             Learn More About Electric Mobility

•             Join the Charging Station Ribbon-Cutting at 10AM

As part of the state's Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Partnership Program, this new charging station is conveniently located along the I-5 corridor at Whole Foods Market. The station includes two EVgo fast chargers that can recharge an electric vehicle (EV) in about the time it takes to grocery shop or enjoy a cup of coffee. Come to the event for a chance to see the new chargers, test drive an electric vehicle, and talk with EV owners.

Public officials will give remarks and hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony starting at 10 a.m. Whole Foods is providing refreshments and participating organizations are offering free goodies and information materials, while supplies last.

Local partners include: Forth, EVgo, Whole Foods, Puget Sound Energy, City of Bellingham, and WSDOT.

Bellingham Nissan, Bellingham Chevrolet, and Forth are offering free test drives on a first-come, first-served basis. Drivers must be over 21-years-old and show a valid driver’s license to test drive a vehicle.

About a dozen local EV enthusiasts will display their vehicles and share their experiences driving electric.
