Event Report
The Santa Clara DEED event was a great success. Our Silicon Valley and San Jose EAA chapters combined efforts to host an EV display in conjunction with the City of Santa Clara's Arbor Day and Earth Day celebration. We were one of several booths with our info table and literature racks, EAA and DEED banners.
This event was on a Thursday and most of the attendees were young students from local elementary schools with their teachers and and a few parents. We brought some solar powered toy cars and the kids had fun seeing the cars move in the sunny spots and stop in the shade. It was a nice learning lesson for them about solar energy and electric cars.
Our EV display consisted of a vintage 2002 RAV 4 EV, a 2011 Blue Think City Car and two Tesla Model 3's. We had a nice location near the wide sidewalk and had a lot of visitors to our booth. Our EVs were parked on the lawn behind our booth. We have participated in this annual celebration with the City of Santa Clara for several years and are invited back every year.
Thanks to Plug in America for providing the literature and posters as well as sending the Tesla drivers to join our EAA team.

Event Description
This free, family friendly event will mark the 32nd year the National Arbor Day Foundation presents the City of Santa Clara with a Tree City USA award to recognize our tree program.
City staff invites the community to engage in environmental education for a healthy lifestyle and a healthy planet through the festivities.
The Silicon Valley Chapter of the Electric Auto Association will have a booth at this event. Stop by to learn about driving electric from EV owners. The parking lot is separate from the Pavilion, so most likely we will not be able to display Electric Cars at our booth.
