Event Report

The counts of cars only reflects pure electric vehicles. We do not offer test drives in plug in hybrids. We spend a huge amount of our time organizing and promoting our event. We do not want to promote any cars that have internal combustion engines that will be on the road for the next 15 years. So we spend our efforts on promoting pure electric vehicles only. We do not discourage people from bringing plug in hybrids, but we do not ask dealers to bring plug in hybrids.

We promote the event with radio ads (one of the biggest expenses) and via social media.

The public response was very good with most people asking how to get the rebates and tax credits and how to take advantage of EV electricity rates. The general impression was that most people had decided that they would be getting an electric in the very near future. They were at the event to confirm their decision.

One of the County of Marin members of the Board of Supervisors displayed her electric car at the event.

Event Description

Golden Gate Electric Vehicle Association is presenting the 2018 Marin National Drive Electric Week electric car show and test drive event.

The event will feature test drives in many of the new models of electric cars available to Marin drivers.  Electric car drivers will be there to share how much they love the fast acceleration and the quiet, smooth, and powerful performance and superior handling of their cars. In addition to the opportunity to test drive and compare cars in a no-hassle setting and win prizes and gifts, drivers will learn how much money they can save by driving electric.

Most Marin drivers charge their cars at home while they sleep and enjoy the convenience of never going to a gas station.  With all of the demands on families today, having the most convenient, efficient, safest, economical and environmentally friendly car with the latest technology is a real benefit.

Thanks to our hosts Bon Air, our major sponsor Transportation Authority of Marin Measure B Vehicle Registration Fee, and to MCE Clean Energy and PG&E for their support.
