The World of Energy at Oconee Nuclear Station will host a National Drive Electric Week Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
The event will allow test drives of the latest electric vehicles - from the Tesla to Duke Energy's Via Etrux pickup truck.
"Electric cars are the future of transportation," said Chris Rimel, South Carolina manager of nuclear generation for Duke Energy. "Nuclear energy has no emissions; electric cars have no emissions. It's a win-win for the environment and pocketbook."
The event will feature food and drinks for sale to benefit Oconee Nuclear Station's United Way and giveaways.
