Event Report

The 2021 Drive and Bike Electric Napa event was hosted by Regeneration Napa County and the Napa Sierra Club at Napa Valley College.

There were 18 battery electric vehicles on display, including Tesla Models S, 3, and X; Ford Mustang Mach-E and Focus; Nissan Leaf; Chevy Bolt; Hyundai Kona; VW ID-4; Avanti conversion; Zero motorcycle; and Lion Electric school bus (provided by Vacaville Unified School District).

For Covid-19 related reasons, no rides and drives were offered in the EVs. However, Napa Valley Bike Tours offered test rides on their electric bikes.

Four organizations had tables at the event to showcase:

The ~200 attendees included the following elected officials:
  • Brad Wagenknecht, Napa County Supervisor
  • Mark Joseph, American Canyon City Council
  • Beth Painter, Napa City Council
  • Anna Chouteau, St. Helena City Council
  • Geoff Ellsworth, St. Helena Mayor

Howard Yune from the Napa Register reported on the event.

Many attendees expressed their gratitude to the EV owners, and to the event's volunteers and organizers for making the event safe, educational, and fun.

Thank you from the organizers to all who attended, promoted, and otherwise supported the event! See you next year!!

Event Description

Current models of electric vehicles (EV) and electric bikes will be on display and their owners available to answer questions between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Napa Valley College during National Drive Electric Week.

Learn from EV drivers and enthusiasts about the thrill of owning and driving an EV, charging it at home (The permitting process for installing EV charging stations has been streamlined throughout Napa County), never having to go to a gas station, savings vis-à-vis gas cars, etc. A variety of electric bikes (cargo bikes, long-johns, Bakfiets, etc.), in addition to traditional designs, will be available to view/ride.

Visit PlugStar or Electric for All to compare vehicles, get equipped, and discover incentives. Find your ideal EV through Forth Drive Finder, EVLife's Concierge Services, or Drive Clean Bay Area's EV Discount Campaign.

Hosted by Napa Sierra Club Group and Regeneration Napa County.
