Event Report

The Mayor opened the event with an introduction on stage. We had 30 participating groups, including food and drink, utility companies, weatherization specialists, solar installers, Keep Abita Beautiful, local park organization, high school robotics team, and the Louisiana State University HyperLoop team. We had 2 bands on stage, the Lo Amps and the Abeatles. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! Kids enjoyed some hands on recycling demonstrations, robots, and an electric dune buggy. We had various organizations announce their offerings on stage. The Sierra Club had a welcome table, where the Nissan swag was given away, and people signed up for our Abita Committee for Energy Sustainability volunteer list. While we weren't able to host a Nissan Leaf, people really enjoyed the 2 hybrids from the local Kia dealership, and especially the 3 gorgeous Tesla's on display.
