Event Report

Our event runs at Wagon Hill Farm in coordination with our annual town fair. As a result, hundreds of residents flow through our upper meadow vehicle display area on their way to a large free BBQ, live music, many informational displays, and a beautiful waterfront scene. As a result, we get not only 20 electrical vehicle enthusiasts and car shoppers hoping to see many EVs in one place, but also each year attract new converts to the electric vehicle fold as they walk by on their way to the lunch tables. A festive happy atmosphere predominates and we highly recommend this as a model for increasing the visibility of area EVs. Our sister event in Portsmouth also went well as it was easier to access for dealers and very well managed. Most of us left the Durham event at 2PM and arrived in Portsmouth increasing their number of cars on display and supporting the dealers with user/owner testimonials.

The Energy Committee of the Town of Durham, NH invites you to our third annual National Drive Electric Week event held in conjunction with Durham Day, the town's annual celebration with free food, drink, kayak demonstrations, boat rides, and much, much more.

CHARGING YOUR EV IN DURHAM: Vehicles needing to charge up are welcome to charge for free all weekend at our dual dedicated Level 2 ChargePoint EV charging parking spots in the Pettee Brook Municipal Lot, Pettee Brook Lane, Durham, NH 03824.  A third charging station is available at the Durham Public Library, 49 Madbury Road.

We invite Electric Vehicle owners to register for the event and bring their vehicles during the EV pre-event parking and meet and greet period (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM).  Once parked in a meadow in an impressive car show formation, EV drivers are encouraged to explore the other Durham Day activities in addition to discussing and demonstrating their vehicles to attend. A free BBQ lunch will be served.

Chevrolet, BMW, Nissan, Tesla, and other dealers are likely to have electric vehicles and offer free test drives depending a bit on available inventory.  If you ever want to feel the power, handling, and emissions free fun of driving an all-electric car, now is your chance!

If you have any questions or suggestions for this event, please contact Charlie Forcey using the contact button on this page.  We look forward to seeing you all there.
