Event Report

The Hobsonville Farmers Market draws good crowds on a Sunday and we plugged into that foot traffic! Lots of walkers and bikers also stop by for food, so we had a great diversity of interested people. we had leaflets and stickers to hand out and all vehicles on show had drivers who were answering questions. The weather was good which helped enormously!

Many couples over 40 yrs old knew quite a lot about electric cars and had really good questions to ask, to fill in their knowledge. Several people could see the benefit to them of having one electric car in the family, for school and supermarket trips.

Event Description

Come to this vibrant farmer's market to see these electric cars on show - a Tesla Model S, a BMW i3, an i-Miev and a Nissan Leaf - and ask the owners, all members of the Better NZ Trust, all the questions you want! The market is located by the Hobsonville Ferry Terminal at the end of Boundary Road.

This event is organised by the Better NZ Trust, who are working together with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) to promote International Drive electric Week in New Zealand.  EECA is promoting electric vehicles in New Zealand as part of the Government's electric vehicles programme; EVs take advantage of New Zealand's renewable electricity and create 80% fewer CO2 emissions than a petrol or diesel car.
