Event Report

THe day started with a skype chat with the NPID crowd in Amsterdam, followed by a press conference and dedication of the new Adopt a Charger at the CSU Chancellor’s Office in Long Beach. Present at ribbon cutting were; Ed Begley, Jr., Paul Scott from Plug in America, Kitty Adams from Adopt a Charger, EV Advocate Chelsea Sexton, and Paul Polizzotto from CBS EcoMedia, and Chancellor Tim White from Cal State University. Vice-Mayor Robert Garcia presented a proclamation naming 9/28 National Plug in Day in the City of Long Beach in honor of long time EV Advocate, Doug Korthof. Lisa Rosen and William Korthof accepted the award in Doug’s honor.

Our event had 692 attendees, and close to 500 people took a test drive in a plug in car, electric motorcycle, or electric bicycle. The CSU Chancellor’s Office lot was filled with 242 plug in cars of all makes and models.
