Event Report

The Drive Electric Earth Month event was part of the Scarlet Gray and Green Fair Cruise-in on the Ohio State University, CFAES Wooster campus. It was cohosted by OSU and the Wayne County Sustainable Energy network. Green vehicles were defined as those with well to wheel (WTW) CO2 emissions of less than 270 g eqCO2/mile (US average = 410 g eqCO2/mi). A specially designated parking area located directly in front of the Stone House was available for registered Green vehicles. 

Approximately 300 people attended the event. There were five speakers. Brian Webb, Sustainability Director, The College of Wooster who presented a Review of the UN Climate Change Conference COP 28. Larry Cernigla presented Green Incentives in the Inflation Reduction Act, Ryan Haden of OSU ATI presented,  Agrivoltaics, Benefits and Concerns; Lingying Zhao, Associate Director of the Agriculture Experiment Station, presented, The OSU Solar Home – Energy efficiency and renewable energy, and Mike Roberts discussed Geothermal Heating and Cooling for your Home.

There was also music, tours, a kids craft area, a hard to recycled item collection, exhibitors and food trucks. Not to mention 150 different blooming crab apple trees at the Arboretum.

Event Description

 

The 2024 Scarlet Gray and Green Fair hosted by the Ohio State University and the Wayne County Sustainable Energy network is a celebration of Earth Day with speakers, displays, tours and an Green Vehicle show. Registered green vehicles, those with well to wheel (WTW) CO2 emissions of less than 270 g eqCO2/mile (US average = 410 g eqCO2/mi), will be directed to a specially designated parking area located in front of the Secrest Center where the event will be held. Come and go as you like from this location.
