Event Report

No surprise it was a gorgeous day. We have great solar karma. Steady traffic from the neighboring Farmer's Market. A wide range of vehicles. Electric scooters, a PHEV Fusion, PHEV Prius and even an eHybrid Porsche Panamera joined multiple Leafs, several Teslas, three i3s and more.
Spokane Transit Authority brought a hybrid bus. We couldn't have done it without help from Avista, Jaremko Nissan, BMW of Spokane and the City of Liberty Lake. The Cork House was a wonderful host and STA allowed us to use their parking lot. At least three times as many people showed up this year. Around 75 joined us later for a barbecue and music by The Nerve.
The variety of vehicles proved to the public an EV can be anything you want it to be. May the auto makers take note and respond to the consumers.

Event Description

Stay current. Go solar. Drive electric.

Please join us in Liberty Lake on September 19, 2015, for our 2nd annual

National Drive Electric Week Event

Discover how EVs will change the way you drive.

KHQ will be broadcasting live from 7 to 9 am.
Arrive early and get on TV.

Electric cars are clean, quiet and practical with zero tailpipe emissions. Running over a billion internal combustion engines on Earth is like idling your car with the garage door shut. We're all going to asphyxiate.

But forget that. EVs are also a jolt to drive.

You Can Keep the ICE

We wouldn't trade our electric rides for all the spark plugs, turbo-chargers and catalytic converters in the world. If your internal combustion engine emitted only sunshine, we'd rather drive our cars.

Experience the instant response of an electric engine with a single gear. Torque and horsepower are in constant supply. While your car is building compression and nearing its power band, an electric car is already gone.

Prove this to yourself September 19. Ride in or drive the Nissan LEAF®, Chevy Volt, BMW i3, Commuter Cars Tango, Think City, Tesla Roadster and more. Oh yeah. Don't forget the Tesla Model S P85D, which is one of the quickest cars on the planet.

And are the turn signals on an EV really loud or is the engine really quiet?

EV and PV: the Perfect Marriage

Charging an electric car from a coal-burning plant isn't very clean. That's why EVs and Photo-Voltaic power go so nicely together. The price of solar equipment continues to fall. Combine that with great incentives and we have little excuse to not be powering our cars, homes and entire cities with solar power.

Meet with electrical engineers and solar enthusiasts who are putting this knowledge to use today. Learn what Avista is doing with solar power through a customer solar estimator tool and the Avista Community Solar program. Ask representatives from Solar Stone how you can make your meter run backwards.

Already Driving Electric?

Register to add your vehicle to the show and share your experience. Get a free charge down the street from Itron's 220V 30A charger.

If you know nothing or think you know everything about driving electric, join us near the Farmer's Market. At the very least, you'll come home smarter and with some fresh vegetables.
