Event Report

Nine members of the Blue Ridge EV Club interacted with about 200 people who stopped to learn about electric cars during the Waynesville, North Carolina Downtown Block Party (a closed street event with 2 bands and open businesses). We exhibited five cars and an information booth (the only booth or street display allowed). People were impressed by aspects of affordability (operating costs, new car discounts, used car value), availability and technology (2017 Tesla S fully autonomous and 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV). No test drives were able to be given. The well-respected, regional Land-of-Sky Clean Vehicle Coalition provided the major coordination and a variety of printed handouts.
